2012 has been a fascinating year for marketers…so many technologies, improvements, and platforms to design, develop and deploy social strategies.
A year is an eternity in social media:
Do you remember all the way back from January, when Pinterest was named the best new startup of 2011, and Facebook introduced Timeline for user profiles? In May Facebook goes public with their much-hyped IPO, August saw Instagram top Twitter for daily active users and in November, President Obama’s election victory message became the most retweeted Twitter post of all time. In December Psy’s Gangnam Style became the first YouTube video to hit 1 billion views.
Social Media captured every single moment of 2012, sometimes faster and more accurately than any of the major publications that have now shifted to taking news from the social networks.
